2025 EOY Report and Lookback
What we cooked up for 2025
Holy god damn cheese balls, this was a massive year... 2025 was the year that this community finally evolved into what I'd imagined five years ago, and it is just absolutely magical.
This year, we rolled out a MASSIVE rebrand to our entire community. We fully embraced our mascot, Icaria, after completing her story in 2024. We introduced her onto our top channels and our new Role Icons, and we added 10 new emotes of her. Alongside the massive rebrand, we finally introduced Phase II of our economy system with buyable colors, iridescence, upgrades to our level perks, and loads of other things. We also launched our Helpers program, allowing members of the community to have a foot in the door in helping our staff team and, by extension, making the community a more welcoming and safe space for all.
There’s just... so much stuff
Alongside our Helpers program, we launched our ModMail system, allowing members of the community to contact our staff more directly and safely. On top of that, we’ve immensely refined our AutoMod over the course of the year... like... by a stupid amount. Smarter anti-spam, better scam detection, fewer false positives, and overall just way tighter protections to keep DisGalaxy comfortable, safe, and actually fun to be in.
We’ve introduced other interesting tech such as our Dynamic Chat Channels feature, where our general chats change based on activity. We’ve experimented with new Music Bots, introduced other gaming bots, and more.
And while it has now been a full year since we officially sunset DG.MC, it has not been forgotten ;)
Nerd stuff
AutoMod
🚫 Our AutoMod blocked **23,754+** messages and restricted **9,948+** users!
Out of more than 5.4 million messages, fewer than 0.5% ever needed to be blocked.
🐌 Out of the 23.7k messages blocked, **2,918+** members were rate-limited.
When almost 3,000 people typed faster than Discord etiquette allows, AutoMod gently applied the brakes.
Moderation
🛡️Our staff team ran **5,972+** infraction commands!
Statistically speaking, that’s a moderation action roughly every hour and a half, all year long.
🔨 Over **2,000** bans were issued.
Among that, only 200+ attempted to appeal, with 38 being accepted.
Activity
🔥Across all our #chat channels, **4.38m** messages were sent!
That’s an average of over 12,000 messages every single day... Poor mods.
💬Across the entire community, **5,444,187+** messages were sent by members!
If those messages were evenly spread out, that’s 1~ message every 6 seconds, 24/7, for the entire year.
Well, thank you. I’d say my 2025 would be nothing like it was without you all, but at the end of the day, this place was made for everyone but me. I’ve seen so, so, so many new people come in, make friends, hang out, form groups, and move on to greater things. It’s always been my single largest reason why I’m still here and continuing to do what I do for this community. So, as long as people are still kind, making happy memories, and leaving with more than what they came with, I’ll be here. See you around.
