Quidditism

In short, quidditism is an ideology and a movement that seeks to take peaceful action to push the world towards an accepting, tolerant and fully free future, where everyone can thrive without fear. This site is a repository of the ideology's theory, as well as useful resources for education and action

Why "Quidditism"?

The word 'quiddity' has 2 major definitions. The first one being "whatever makes something what is is, the essence". The movement seeks to establish a world where everyone is allowed to fully embrace themselves and who they truly are. In other words we wish for people to embrace their essence. The second definition of the world 'quiddity' is "deviation from an established pattern or norm, eccentricity". Quidditism aims to do away with the concept of "normalcy", as every being is different and the norm only serves as a tool of the oppressors.

Core Principles

Total Autonomy

Includes anti-autoritarianism, radical inclusion, total bodily autonomy, voluntary association, anti-psych and chosen recovery.

Mutual Aid

A society based on solidarity and moral responsability. A focus on education, a gift economy and diffuse sanctions as the basis.

Direct Action

An ideology based on movement and actions, in contrast to a lot of new ideologies such as radqueer, FLEUR or radeviant. A focus on spreading information, education, community actions and peaceful protests.

Pacifism

While peace isn't always possible, choosing violence is a last resort, whether it's to defend or to attack.
