Every server tells you it's a safe space. Then it gives you a member list, a profile, a join date, and a permanent record of everything you've ever said in it. You're not anonymous. You're just wearing a name you picked.
We built something different, and the difference is structural rather than a promise.
There is no shared channel here. When you join, a private set of channels is built just for you, and nobody else can open them. When you type, your message is rewritten as Anonymous and delivered to everyone else in your room, and your original disappears. You see one flowing conversation with dozens of people in it. What you never see is who any of them are.
That last part matters more than it sounds. Because nobody shares a channel, there is no list of members to scroll. No profile to click. No way to connect two messages to the same person. You can't check what someone said last week, because there's no thread leading back to them. Neither can anyone else, about you.
What that actually changes
The first thing people notice is that the usual calculation disappears. Normally, before you post something honest, you run a quick check: who's going to see this, what will they think of me afterwards, is this worth the small permanent dent in how people read me. That check happens fast enough that most people don't notice they're doing it. They just quietly don't send the message.
Here there's nothing to calculate. There's no reputation to protect, nothing to stay consistent with, and no audience that will remember it tomorrow. So people say the thing. Sometimes that's heavy: the thing they haven't told anyone, the question they'd be embarrassed to ask under their own name. Often it's much smaller. Someone being plainly honest about a bad Tuesday, without dressing it up. That turns out to be rarer than it should be.
The second thing people notice is that it's still a conversation. You get your own generated avatar so threads are followable, replies work normally, and you get pinged when someone answers you. It isn't shouting into a void. It's just a room where nobody has a name.
What it isn't
Anonymity isn't a free pass. Hate speech, slurs, harassment, threats and spam are filtered automatically, and anyone trying to work out or expose who another member is gets removed. Not having a name makes people honest. It doesn't make them exempt.
Messages are anonymous, not private. Write accordingly.
We're in beta
Joins are gated while we test. Join anyway and tell us why you'd like in, and if you're up for helping us break things you'll be let straight through.
Being early matters more here than in most servers. An anonymous room is made entirely of whoever shows up and what they're willing to say, so the first handful of people decide what it becomes. That's happening now.
