Pixelgame enjoyers, where are you?

Many players have lost their motivation to pixelgames, not because they dont have anything to do on them, but because they can't find the right thing to motivate them. Other games are trying to fix this by a plethora of methods: some games try to get creative with ui updates, some games effectively allow a level of freedom that attracts the kind of playerbase other games don't want, and other games rely on constant low-cd-event dopamine to keep players from leaving the game.

But I've grown tired. I've grown tired of people complaining a pixelgame is bad solely because it has less players than a different pixelgame on a different period of time, of people only participating because there's "hype for a big war", of people trying to speedrun making troll templates just to kill another country's activity faster when the principal objective of this site is meant to be artistic.

And this is everyone's fault and no one's at the same time, and you all know this deep inside.

If you are a player that enjoys playing pixelgames and wants to do so but doesnt have a reason to play, find one. Find a new faction, create a new template, maybe try out another canvas.

If you are a faction whose members have the same problem, give them motivation. Give them a reason to play the game in a way they'll enjoy. Create a new template, make a new colony, invade another country. Make artistic updates to your land so it doesn't look old fashioned and it makes people go WOW! when they see how impressive your lands look.

Advertising to hundreds or thousands on social media is useless if your players wont even place for you. Streamers are useless if 99% of the players never touch the game again.

We know the problem. You have the solution. Some truths are hard to swallow but they're necessary to get to the sweeter end of the deal.
There will be more reasons to play the game soon. But this doesn't mean there aren't already many reasons for you to play the game, or that any of those reasons will be going away any time soon.

Not everyone can get to say "we represent the true vision of pixelgames", but representing this vision while no one understands it is about as pointless as creating a ton of new pixelgames just because "you feel like owning a game". Many have done that, and many still do it today, even if they refuse to admit it.

Other game owners either don't want or don't care enough about turning their game into something their players enjoy, and so far the reward we've gotten on Pixmap for being possibly the only pixelgame consistently doing this is a few "f*ck you"'s and a few dozens "dead website" comments.

Websites are only as dead as their own players want to, and there are plenty of great examples. I wont name them since this is not targeting any specific game, but if you have the right eyes into the right places you will see the reality of some games in a way few people can see and even less can describe.

To whoever sees these posts, let everyone on pixelgames know. Make sure every single player of your pixmap faction understands this and sees that gaslighting yourself into hating a game you like and stopping yourself from doing an activity you enjoy. Make sure every pixelgame player, current and old, from any pixelgame, knows the meaning of this message and what pixelgames are truly meant to represent.

The true meaning of pixelgames never started with the known PPF, but rather began on r/place, and it was lost on time, both in pc.io and in the original PPF, the place where true freedom might have existed once, the place where EMF was not a thing yet and Ajax was the one true king of map-based pixelgames. But that's a history for another day.
