The Women We Are is a community for women 50+ who are ready to step back into their own lives. Come as you are: you already belong.
For years, you may have been the one holding everything together: work, home, friends, the people who needed you. Somewhere along the way, you stopped seeing yourself in the picture. Not because you gave up, but because there was always someone else to put first.
This group is a place to pause. It’s a quiet corner of the internet where you don’t have to perform, prove anything, or become a certain kind of woman before you’re welcome. You’re welcome now, exactly as you are.
Here, we talk about the things that rarely get space elsewhere:
Who you were before life got busy, and what lit you up back then
How you became the woman you are today, and making peace with that
What you might want next, whether that’s something big, something small, or simply time to breathe
What it really feels like to be a woman over 50 who isn’t finished yet
There’s no pressure to reinvent yourself, and nothing here needs fixing. It’s about reflection, acceptance and new beginnings, at your own pace. Some women come to share. Some come to read quietly and feel less alone. Both are welcome.
What you’ll find in the group:
Gentle reflection prompts and conversation starters
Short stories and honest moments from life after 50
Encouragement from women who understand, without judgement
A warm, respectful space with clear guidelines and no hard sell
About your host
The Women We Are is hosted by Jan Appleton. Jan holds a joint degree in Education and Women’s Studies and a Master’s in Gender Studies. She is a certified NLP Master Practitioner and Strategic Life Coaching Practitioner. She has spent years supporting women, including through the voluntary sector, and started her own knitwear brand in her fifties. Now in her sixties, she’s building the space she wished she’d had.
Coming soon
In 2027, The Women We Are will open a deeper membership community and a signature course built around three stages: the girl you were, the woman you are now, and the women we’re still becoming. Members of this group will be the first to hear about it.
If you’ve been quietly waiting for permission to put yourself back on the list, consider this it. Come in, say hello, or simply listen. You already belong.
