We just made a change we've been excited about for a while: griv.io is now our primary domain.
If you've been using grivio.com, don't worry - those links still work and will redirect you to the right place. But going forward, griv.io is home.
Seven characters. That's it. griv.io.
Think about the last time you tried to share a link while gaming. You're in a match, someone asks where to find your community, and now you're alt-tabbing to copy a string of random characters, reading it out letter by letter, hoping they type it right on their end. We've all done that dance.
Or picture this: you're at a convention, you just met someone who's into the same stuff you are, and you want to tell them where to find your community. A short, memorable link you can just say makes that moment easier.
griv.io/yourcommunity. That's something you can remember. Something you can say out loud. Something you can type on your phone while walking without autocorrect fighting you.
Here's the part we're genuinely proud of: the brand is baked right into the domain. griv.io isn't a compromise or a random abbreviation. It reads as the name. That's rare for a domain this size, and we're glad we had the foresight to register it when we did.
But the real value isn't just about us having a cool URL. It's about what it means for your communities.
When someone visits your griv.io link, they're not just landing on a single platform. They're finding your Discord, your YouTube, your Twitch, your events, your articles - everything in one place. One short link that represents the whole picture of what you've built.
Honestly? Nothing. Everything's already migrated. Your community pages, your content, your connections - all of it lives at griv.io now, and any old grivio.com links will keep working.
If you want to update links you've shared elsewhere - your social bios, your stream descriptions, wherever - you can swap in the shorter griv.io version. But there's no rush. The old links aren't going anywhere.
This change reflects what we've always believed: communities should be easy to find. Every character in a URL is a tiny barrier. Every random string is a moment of friction. We want the path to your community to be as smooth as possible.
griv.io. Short enough to say. Easy enough to remember. And it takes people to everything you've built.
Welcome to the new address. Same mission, shorter link.
